On 2nd November 2024, the Odisha Unit of the National Crime Investigation Bureau (NCIB), under the leadership of Shri Sudam Charan Das, State Director, organized a Vigilance Awareness Program aimed at sensitizing youth on the importance of integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct in public and personal life.
The program was conducted in collaboration with a group of enthusiastic NCC cadets, who actively participated in the session. Shri Sudam Charan Das, in his keynote address, emphasized the critical role of vigilance and anti-corruption awareness in nation-building. He highlighted how corruption not only hampers national development but also erodes public trust in institutions.
The session began with an introduction to the objectives of Vigilance Awareness Week, which is observed across the country to reaffirm the commitment of all stakeholders to the promotion of integrity and eradication of corruption. The theme of the program revolved around “Say No to Corruption; Commit to the Nation.”
During the interactive session, Shri Das engaged the NCC cadets in thought-provoking discussions and real-life examples of ethical dilemmas, encouraging them to be vigilant citizens and future leaders with uncompromising values. The cadets were made aware of how even small acts of integrity contribute to a more transparent and responsible society.
The cadets also participated in a short quiz and awareness drive, where they took a vigilance pledge to uphold honesty, perform their duties with dedication, and report any suspicious or unethical activity in their surroundings. Shri Das also elaborated on the role of youth in whistleblowing and how institutions like the NCIB support such efforts through proper legal and procedural channels.
At the end of the program, certificates of participation and small tokens of appreciation were distributed to the cadets, recognizing their commitment and involvement. The initiative was appreciated by all present and left a lasting impression on the young minds about their role in creating a corruption-free India.
