Madhuban, Jajpur | 05 December 2025 — Madhuban College hosted an awareness programme conducted by the National Crime Investigation Bureau (NCIB), Odisha, focusing on the prevention of child marriage and its social impact. The event was organised under the guidance of NCIB State Director Shri Sudam Charan Das and the supervision of District Officer Shri Baidhyendra Nath Sahu.
As part of the programme, a debate competition on “Child Marriage and its Social Impact” was held. Subhashini Sahu secured the 1st position, Mamali Das achieved the 2nd position and Utkalini Sahu stood 3rd. All winners were felicitated by NCIB.
The programme was presided over by Principal Shri Prashant Kumar Ghadai. Dr. Rashmi Ranjan Pasayat attended as the chief guest, Dr. Basant Kumar Panda as the guest of honour, and Dr. Prabhanjan Pati as the special guest. They addressed the students on the harmful effects of child marriage. The chief speaker, Shri Pradeep Kumar Samal, highlighted the importance of education and social awareness in eradicating the practice.
NCIB State Director Shri Sudam Charan Das elaborated on the causes, consequences, preventive measures, and legal provisions related to child marriage, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the issue.
